Rogue Scot Scottish Historical Romance Brethren of Stone edition by Tammy Andresen Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
- Warning SPOILERS! After reading this series I admit to being extremely disappointed. While the stories are entertaining, the time line is incorrect and it’s full of typos and inconsistencies.
In the first book, The Duke’s Scottish Lass, One of the wives is called Alexa, yet in none of the following books, do any of the brothers have a wife with that name. In this book it seems like she mixes up the names Roderick and Reginald.
Also in the first book, Matt’s wife Bridget is there. But he just meets and marries her in this book and four days later they make port in London, where he tells someone his sister got married. Since they came straight to London from their own wedding, and Delia was married at her oldest brother’s castle, how could they be in 2 places at once? - I love Tammy's novels. Uncomplicated reading. Straight forward story line. Great characters. Usually only 1 liaison. Lead characters carry into following novels. The stories are heartwarming, and not lust oriented, they are love stories.
- Rogue Scot is another fantastic historical romance by Tammy Andresen. This book is a fairly quick read, perfect for those with limited reading time. Ms. Andresen has delivered a well-written book. You can't help but love the characters. Matthew leads his 3 ships into a sheltered harbor when a storm approaches. Bridget's ship wasn't so lucky and sunk attempting to get to safety. Matthew and Bridget's story is loaded with drama, humor, sizzle and just a touch of suspense. I enjoyed every page of Rogue Scot and can't wait for my next book by Tammy Andresen. Rogue Scot is part of the Brethren of Stone Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from a third party. All thoughts and opinions are my own. - Poor Matt. I feel for him. Losing a brother would be a horrible affair and all during this book he still felt the aftermath of it. He meets Bridget and feels that she’s full of herself. Well, she thinks he’s nothing like a man she would choose to marry. They work through their misconceptions of each other and become romantically involved. Just when I thought it was the end of the book, something happens to completely throw me and I’m sitting here going, “What??†That was a shocker!
- I love this series - the Sinclair sons & daughter are such a wonderful family. In this story, our hero is Captain Matt Sinclair who lost his twin brother 10 years ago and he has become a loner & rake with no room in his life for love. While at sea, delivering goods to his brother, during a storm they rescue a crew and 2 women from a sinking ship. Our heroine has just appeared to Matt - Lady Bridget McDougal is half English and certainly thinks she is way above his class. He finds her to be a spoiled, rich lady of the Ton that can't even say thank you for saving her life & she thinks he is an overbearing ogre who does nothing but sneer, glare and lecture (just like her father).
They will both eventually see that they were wrong about one another. They have some adventurous, family, romantic moments. I highly recommend the book and the whole series as it is full of wonderful stories and characters. I am already looking forward to Reginald's story. - The fourth book in The Brethren of Stone series, this one touches the heart in a special way and leaves one happy about the conclusion. This family has had so much pain, that Matthew doesn't even think twice about closing off his heart to the plight of Lady Bridget McDougal. It is only when he comes to the realisation that her father is one of the most despised men in Scotland that he knows that if he doesn't give her the assistance she needs, he would blame himself if something awful were to happen to her. Lady Bridget has a plan and it doesn't include the arrogant Matthew Sinclair. It is only when she understands that she truly has lost everything that she turns to Matthew for a solution. Not only do they find a way through the problems, but the end result is full of surprises. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

💋💋
Adventure on the Scottish seas with Mathew the youngest brother of the Sinclair’s .
Rescuing the passengers and crew from a sinking ship during a storm , Matt recovers more than he bargained for in Bridget.
The fiery little Lady and her companion certainly make life on board more interesting.
Matt is determined not to fall for her but fails miserably, Bridget likewise does the same , all they need now is to admit it .
Enjoyable story with good relatable characters, a great addition to an addictive series.
I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review - What is not to love about a Sinclair brother? Matthew Sinclair with his three ships had taken shelter in a small cover from a terrible storm. When they spot a ship crashing and quickly sinking, he and his crew rescue those aboad and bring them to his ship.
Lady Bridget McDougal, half Scot and half English, had been forced to go to England by her father who wanted her to not come back. He had married a young wife and hopes to have a son soon to he puts her on a ship. She was one of the passenges rescured by Matt and to say she is a fiesty little lady is saying it mildly! Matt promises to get her to London, but meanwhile they end up spending time together on the voyage there.
Let the adventure begin as these two try not to become attracted to each other but there is really no use to fight it. A wonderful story of two people who are fated to be together but there is a journey to get there! Another amazing addition to this series!!
